/ ABOUT THE EXHIBIT /
Laura Harden is a fine art photographer currently working on a long-term project in her home state of Arkansas. A recent graduate from the MFA photography program at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA, Laura began the project as her thesis over three years ago. The work has been exhibited nationally and won several awards, including the Arthur Griffin Legacy Award for 2003. Laura lives in San Francisco and has recently joined the Academy of Art University, where she is an instructor and coordinator for the MFA photography department. Within the last year, Laura has also begun working in still life and has been commissioned for her black and white technology series. Her work can be seen at www.lauraharden.com.
Lolly Koon was born in 1981 in Charleston, SC. During highschool she studied
photography at the Gibbes Art studios. She also traveled with humanitarian aid to Romania where she took documentary photographs for the group as well as for the doctors accompanying us. After graduating she went to college at Rochester Institute of Technology where she studied Fine Art and Advertising Photography. In the spring 2002 Lolly traveled to Cuba to photograph. Also in 2002 she recieved a scholarship from FujiFilm in exchange for a portfolio of her images. The summer before her senior year in
college, she lived in the British Virgin Islands on a sail boat and photographed for a
sailing company brochure. She graduated with honors in May 2003 with a BFA in Professional Photographic Illustration and a minor in Literature. She took a job in the summer of 2003 as a photographer at a commercial photography studio in Portland, ME. She has been in Portland working and continuing to shoot her own personal work for the past 2 years.
